Audrey Avril is an artist living in Winnetka, Illinois.
Her artistic career began in the third grade with a comic series she drew during recess. What started as an exploration of the strangest moments of her “Midwestern gothic” childhood spiraled into a lifelong curiosity for all things weird.
Now she finds inspiration in the far-flung corners of history and nature, often traversing the borders between creepy and cute, serious and silly, magical and mundane. She works across traditional and digital mediums, though she has a soft spot for watercolor and her trusty Hunt 102 Nib pen.
She studied Studio Art and English at Kenyon College, and served as Manager of Exhibitions at the Evanston Art Center from 2022-23.
Every week she posts her personal projects to her Instagram.
On the off chance she is not drawing she can be found writing postcards to strangers, tending her wildflower garden, or just watching the clouds roll by.
