Current Location Press creates fine art letterpress prints inspired by native flora & fauna as well as Midwest landscapes found in city and state parks. By combining hand-carved illustrative blocks with abstracted color fields, the work evokes the feeling of the space as well as details of the natural beauty. By embracing traditional methods of letterpress printing’s movable type, the off-cuts of the wood type manufacturing process are used as printing blocks to create the letterpress form. This allows the production method to be as sustainable as possible to help preserve the beauty of the natural world through conscious creation.
